In 1932, Rochester Optical began as one of the nation's few manufacturers of high-quality lenses. Having gained a reputation for service and quality, we established ongoing contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense to supply G.I.'s with rugged, combat-ready eye wear, a service we still provide today.

In April of 2001, we decided it was time to bring our quality and service to the people of Rochester, NY. Our first retail outlet opened in the same location as our manufacturing company and lab - at the corner of Mount Read Boulevard and Lyell Avenue. Without a middleman, we could offer our retail customers factory direct savings without sacrificing quality and service. Soon after, we opened our second location in Perinton Square Mall and added a full-time optometrist, hence, expanding our product line to include contact lenses. With four locations at the present time, Rochester Optical Factory Outlet is quickly changing the way Rochester buys eyewear.
